The American Society of Transplant Surgeons works to advance the art and science of transplant surgery through support for patient care, research, educational initiatives, and advocacy.
To that end, the organization welcomes applications for its Faculty Development Grant program. Through the program, a single grant of $50,000 a year over two years will be awarded to a junior faculty member conducting research in the field of organ transplantation so that s/he can pursue further funding. The RFA is open to all topics in the field.
To be eligible, applicants must reside in North America, be a member of ASTS, be a junior faculty member at a UNOS-approved (or Canadian equivalent) transplant center in the first five years of his/her faculty appointment; and have completed a post-residency fellowship or post-doctoral fellowship at an ASTS-approved fellowship training program or foreign equivalent.
See the American Society of Transplant Surgeons website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
