The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation’s annual funding call for Experimental Physics Investigators is now open. The foundation will provide support for approximately 20 creative mid-career individuals and their research teams to advance our understanding of physical phenomena and to enable researchers to venture in new directions that have the potential to transform the field.
Awards will provide $1.25 million over five years with some additional funds made available in subsequent years for equipment needs unforeseen at the time of application. The foundation will also host gatherings of investigators to build collaborations, share new research ideas, and discuss approaches to building productive, equitable, and inclusive research groups.
Applicants must have a tenured (or equivalent) position at a U.S. institution and have received this distinction for the first time within the previous five years. The first step for consideration is to submit a short description of a new research idea along with CV information. This information must be submitted by 25 October 2023, noon Pacific Time.
