TREE Fund: John Z. Duling Grant Program for Innovative Tree Research

The Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund (TREE Fund) works to support the discovery and dissemination of new knowledge in arboriculture and urban forestry.

To that end, the fund invites applications for its John Z. Duling Grant Program. Through the program, grants of up to $25,000 over up to three years will be awarded as start-up or seed funding to support innovative research and technology transfer projects that have the potential of benefiting the everyday work of arborists. The fund welcomes research proposals and applications from a wide range of academic and technical disciplines, of both a qualitative and a quantitative nature.

In 2022, the program will focus on propagation, plant selection, development of new varieties, and planting/establishment.

Letters of inquiry will be accepted from August 1, 2022 to September 15, 2022. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit full proposals by October 1, 2022.

Please contact Gwen Allouch if you are interested in applying to this opportunity.
