Myocarditis Foundation: Research Grants

Grant Amount: $40,000
Deadline: December 1, 2020
Category: Health Sciences; Myocarditis,
Additional Information

Established in 2005, the Myocarditis Foundation is dedicated to providing accurate and up-to-date information to medical professionals, patients, and their families, and to the scientific advancement of both the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

To that end, the foundation welcomes applications for its Research Grants program. Through the program, grants of $40,000 will be awarded in support of the training and career development of physician-scientists in myocarditis research.

Grants may act as seed funding to support the early stages of long-term research, from the investigation of an initial hypothesis to the collection of preliminary data. At the end of the grant period, recipients should be well-prepared to seek long-term funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) or other major granting institution. Applicants must work with a preceptor who demonstrates a proven commitment to myocarditis research and will provide support during the application process. For those who desire help in selecting a preceptor, the Myocarditis Foundation maintains a list of potential candidates.

To be eligible, applicants must conduct all research and activities in the U.S. or Canada and be within ten years of earning an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree.

See the Myocarditis Foundation for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
