American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation: Invites Applications for Family Medicine Cares Resident Service Award

The American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation is inviting applications for the Family Medicine Cares Resident Service Award.
The program provides up to two award packages totaling $16,500 to a first- and second-year family medicine resident with a desire to address health disparities by tackling the health needs of the most vulnerable in their local communities. The award package includes $10,000 for the resident whose service project is selected for funding; $5,000 for the free clinic (or similar healthcare facility) where the service project will be implemented; a $500 stipend to the residency program to celebrate and recognize the awardee; and a $1,000 travel award reimbursement for the resident to attend the national conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students for the purpose of presenting the results of the project.
To be eligible, applicants must be a member of AAFP and a first- or second-year family medicine resident.
